About HUSRUM
HUSRUM is a volunteer driven, open and inclusive space for young people aged 16–30 who experience loneliness or mental vulnerability. We offer a range of social activities, support groups, and one-on-one friendship matches to help build meaningful connections, strengthen mental well-being and allieviate loneliness.
All our activities are free to participate in and driven by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about fostering a supportive environment that lets young people develop new friendships, practice social skills and connect with others.
Our goal is to create welcoming communites where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Whether you want to participate in social activities, join group conversations, or simply connect with others who understand, HUSRUM is here for you!
The history of HUSRUM
HUSRUM was originally founded in the city of Aarhus in the early 1990’s under a different name, and was later adopted as an established part of the larger NGO “Jysk Børneforsorg/Fredehjem”- joining an organisation with more than 200 different social programs and institutions.
Since then, HUSRUM has steadily developed our methods and established new HUSRUM communities, each driven by a local coordinator and volunteers.
As of 2024 HUSRUM can be found in 7 major danish cities: Aarhus, Horsens, Viborg, Silkeborg, Randers, Esbjerg and Skanderborg.
